Permit vs. Production

There are two ways to order a building. You can order a building for production, or you can order a building for permit. After receiving your deposit, many companies place the building straight into production. That can be a costly mistake.

If you have a building in production before obtaining your permits from the city, they could come back and tell you that you have an easement or setback on the property, or the building is too high, too wide, too long, or the pitch is too high. In a worse case scenario, they could tell you that you can’t build period.

At Standard Steel Buildings, we wait to hear that you have obtained building permits before we order the building into production. By ordering the building in this manner, it allows us to make changes or modifications if needed protecting you from a potentially devastating loss.
